April 26, 2013 - Saco, Maine - During the 2013 Annual Members PeoplesChoice annual shareholders meeting, a small group happily presented a “big check” for $7,506 to the Ending Hunger in Maine Campaign. The funds, raised during the past year by the employees and members of the Saco, Maine based credit union, are being made available to the following group of southern Maine organizations dedicated to the cause of Ending Hunger:

Independent Research Firm Callahan & Associates also puts the Saco, Maine Credit Union in top 5% of all US Credit Unions

March 25, 2013 — Saco, Maine - In Q4 2012 Callahan & Associates measure of Credit Union Member Valuation—called the Return of Member Index—PeoplesChoice Credit Union was the leading credit union in southern Maine and placed in the top 5% of all US Credit Unions in their class. PeoplesChoice placed 29th nationwide in a class of 702 credit unions with assets valued between $100M-$250M.

February 12, 2013:  What an exciting night it was for a couple of great buddies in Portland recently. Not only did the Pirates shutout the Albany Devils on February 2nd, but two pair of Big & Little Brothers had the chance to enjoy the action at the Civic Center for free thanks to a ticket donation by PeoplesChoice Credit Union to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine.  Salty Pete, the Pirates Mascot, also came by and spent a few minutes with the group at the special event with Junior Achievement and the Pirates.

PeoplesChoice has selected and announced the winners of its recently ended “It’s My Tech Choice” contest. The promotion offered participants the chance to win their choice of an Apple iPad or an Android Smart Phone.

The Android Phone was won by Biddeford resident Lucille Murphy and the iPad went to Laurie Hatch of Cape Porpoise.

As part of a recent graduating class of 75 credit union professionals, PeoplesChoice Vice President Eric Green completed the three-year course of study with High Honors. During the July ceremony--held at the University of Wisconsin’s CUNA Management School--Eric was one of only seven to attain high honors for their achievement in academic and real world training in credit union and financial leadership. We are very proud of his achievement and all it does to show how far we are going to train world-class professionals to serve you in your banking needs. Way to go Eric.

On May 30, 2012, a property closing in a private sale of 35 Bradbury Street in Biddeford was completed transferring ownership from PeoplesChoice Credit Union to Good Shepherd Parish Catholic Church.  Good Shepherd already owns the adjacent property - St Joseph Church .

Thanks to everyone for your donations and support PCU team for Mary’s Walk 2012, held March 11 in Saco. Each year the Kerrymen Pub holds Mary’s Walk in honor of Mary Kerry Libby to help fund Maine based cancer research. Since its inception in 1999 Mary's Walk has raised over $1,410,000 for cancer research in Maine.

Saco, ME – March 7, 2012 – PeoplesChoice Credit Union held its’ 9^th annual Polar Bear Scramble on the state of the art golf simulators at Fore Season Indoor Golf in Portland, Maine.  This year’s event featured a sold-out field and raised $11,700 for the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger and Maine Special Olympics.  In just nine years, the event has raised over $93,200 for these two important causes.

PeoplesChoice Credit Union, based in Saco, was recently and once again named as one of the “Best Places to Work in Maine.” In just their second year on the list PCU moved up from 19th to 13th place in the Small-Medium Companies category.

In early July, a highly skilled unit of professionals was deployed in Saco to send 15 unmarked packages to Afghanistan in a mission of mercy. At the other end of that delivery five very lucky U.S. soldiers unwrapped care, comfort and some much needed ‘stuff’ from home.
