PeoplesChoice Credit Union, based in Saco, was recently and once again named as one of the “Best Places to Work in Maine.” In just their second year on the list PCU moved up from 19th to 13th place in the Small-Medium Companies category.
According to Luke Labbe, President of PeoplesChoice “This improvement over last year is a tribute to our Board and employees for making PCU a great place to work.”
PeoplesChoice has created an inspiring working environment for its employees through recognition of excellence and by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth and advancement; plus, when you throw in a flexible time off policy and frequent gift giveaways you create a tight knit group of dedicated employees. Close to half of the nearly 50 employees have been with PCU for ten or more years.
The combination of dedicated employees offering the best in member service and innovative product offerings like online and mobile banking, attractive rates and low or no fees on many of their products contribute to PCU's formula for success. "Our goal everyday is to make a difference in our member’s financial lives,” says Labbe, “that we also make a difference in our employees lives is icing on the cake.”
Not looking to rest on their laurels, PCU’s Human Resources Specialist, Shannon Kashinsky, is already looking at ways to continually improve and her door is always open for employees to stop by and share their ideas.

PeoplesChoice Credit Union management and personnel had a great time at the Best Places to Work in Maine 2011 awards and recognition dinner held October 11 at the Ramada Conference Center in Lewiston. PeoplesChoice is a repeat winner of this prestigious recognition that takes into consideration employee satisfaction, customer service, human resource management, and other related qualities.
