Our Community

At PeoplesChoice Credit Union we are members of a community, and we feel it is our obligation to give back. We are deeply committed to serving and improving the communities where our members live or work.

Various Community Events and Volunteer Efforts

Our Social Responsibility Committee is pleased to report that PeoplesChoice had a record-breaking year, with 2,000 hours of total volunteer time tracked and funds raised exceeding any other year! In 2023, the Committee worked hard to raise funds and awareness in support of local non-profits through fundraising events such as:

  • Our Social Responsibility Committee has 15 members. All fundraising efforts are supported by every employee of PeoplesChoice.
  • Saco Third Floor Community Space – Donated more than 50 Days per year
  • In 2024, we will have 6 employees with 30+ years of service, 5 of whom have 35+ years of service and another 11 with over 10 years of service.
  • PCU contributed over $103Ktoward community organizations in 2023
  • Along with your support in various fundraisers and initiatives, the PCU community raised almost $41Kin 2023, all of which gets distributed to Ending Hunger, Special Olympics, and United Way.  This is in addition to the $103K, for a total community impact of $144K!
  • Third year of supporting Southern Maine Agency on Aging for their heating assistance program
  • Staff Appreciation Day and Halloween Costume contest for staff and member enjoyment.
  • Over 2000 volunteer hours for 2023!

We are so grateful to our generous members and employees who helped us break records in our giving in 2023.

We look forward to another great year of giving and community support in 2024.
