Our Community

At PeoplesChoice Credit Union we are members of a community, and we feel it is our obligation to give back. We are deeply committed to serving and improving the communities where our members live or work.

Our Social Recognition Committee
(SRC) is pleased to report that PeoplesChoice had a record-breaking year, with 1,600 hours of total volunteer time tracked and funds raised exceeding any other year! In 2017, the Committee worked hard to raise funds and awareness in support of local non-profits through fundraising events such as:
  • This year we anticipate contributing Over $20,000 to Ending Hunger, from a 50/50 raffle
conducted in the spring, the Polar Bear golf event , the fall cash calendar, and from candy sales,
candle sales and other misc. fundraisers — all $1.00 at a time!

  • Our Social Responsibility Committee has 6 members with an additional 3 helpers at outlying
branches. All fundraising efforts are supported by every employee of PeoplesChoice.

  • Collecting and donating Toys for Tots at all our branches.

  • The Great Book giveaway - Over $500 in free books located under the Christmas trees at each
    branch- preschool to grade 6.

  • Red Nose Day - benefit organized by Comic Relief to raise money for young people living in
    poverty.

  • $500 donated to Southern Maine Agency on Aging for their heating assistance program

  • Staff appreciation day and Halloween Costume contest for staff and member enjoyment.

  • Over 1600 volunteer hours for 2017!

We are so grateful to our generous membership and employees who helped us break records in our giving in 2017. We look forward to another great year of giving and community support in 2018.
