Shared Branching – IDCheck
What is IDCheck?
IDCheck is a secure identity verification process that helps protect against account takeover and fraud during Shared Branching transactions. It works by verifying your government-issued ID and comparing it to a selfie — right from your phone or device.
Who needs to use it?
If you’re a PeoplesChoice member visiting a Shared Branching Location and present an out-of-state ID, you’ll need to complete the IDCheck process.
*In-state IDs are not affected — this requirement only applies to out-of-state IDs.
How IDCheck Works:
-
Start the process by scanning the QR code at the branch or visit verify.coop.org.
-
Enter your credit union and member details.
-
Upload a photo of your ID and take a selfie.
-
Get a secure code to show the teller and complete your transaction.
Save Time — Verify Before You Visit
Save time at the branch by verifying your ID ahead of your visit. Just go to verify.coop.org before heading to your Shared Branching Location—it only takes a few minutes.
*Please Note: The access code is valid for only 20 minutes. If your travel time to the branch is longer, wait until you arrive to complete the verification.
Why It Matters
Fraud is on the rise, and IDCheck give both you and the Shared Branching network an extra layer of fraud protection. It’s simple, secure and helps keep your accounts safe — wherever you bank.
